How the Cape Area Chamber of Commerce did an Online 180
The Cape Area Chamber has worked vigorously to become the voice of regional development in Cape Girardeau. They connect professionals through events, workshops and networking; and they make their city better because of it. That’s something to be proud of, right?
The Chamber thought so, too, and they wanted an online presence that reflected their image and dedication to the city. They wanted to help connect people in the community, increase attendance at their events and be the key resource for any community based news.
Their current website was difficult to navigate, outdated and wasn’t utilizing the backend software, ChamberMaster, to its full potential. We were given the opportunity and privilege to create a website that matched their new branding and goals, utilize the functionality of ChamberMaster and make it easy for Chamber staff members to keep the site updated and useful to visitors.
Due to the large scope of this project, we hit the ground running with several teams at once. Chris Behnken, our CTO, got going on the ChamberMaster API integration, while our development engineer, Shehan worked on the rest of the core functionality of the site. Now it was time for my favorite step; the design.
We wanted to create an energetic design that would make a lasting impression on anyone visiting the site, and that positioned the Chamber as a community leader. With compelling statements, bright colors and prominent imagery, we were able to create just that.
